Sevag Yeghoyan
The ‘hub on the wheel’, the centre of social circles, and an entrepreneur at heart, Sevag is a successful lawyer based in Toronto who I first met at McGill University while a member of the rugby club. With a hearty laugh and particularly sensitive pectoral muscles, Sevag was a stalwart in the front row and the friend who introduced me to the Toronto Saracens Rugby club, where I played for a couple of summers when I moved to the city. Deeply committed to his friends and family, Sevag is equally passionate about his Armenian heritage and has gone so far as to create an annual event to pay homage to the cinematic skills of his countrymen: the Pomegranate Film Festival. While we have lost touch in recent years, I will always be impressed by the warmth and camaraderie experienced with Sevag, on and off the rugby pitch, and his ability to organize and mobilize individuals in the name of a cause.
