Leanne Mitchell

Otherwise known as “Raymond” to me (referring to her maiden name), Leanne is one of the funniest women I know. Always up for a chat and a glass of white wine, she became the mother to our adopted dog Juno when we left South Africa in 2018.  (Juno came to us via our friend Fico Pastor, and she now lives a better life than us in the Noordhoek Valley in Cape Town.) A quick-talking comedienne, Leanne knows everything and everyone.  A former journalist, turned art author and plain-language consultant with Simplified, Leanne is also an obsessed trail runner.  Full of fun and a seeker of good times, she has figured out how to enjoy life like few others I know.  Capable of hanging with ‘the boys’ as well as she gossips with the girls, Leanne is a social butterfly who can insert herself into just about any situation and excel at entertaining others.
