Alan Chumley
Like Anne-Marie Marais, I met Alan - aka “The Chummer” - through my work at Bell and the company’s collaboration with the MSN-Sympatico Internet portal. Initially educated to become a city planner, Alan transitioned to (if not tolerated) the world of PR while concurrently studying a Masters in Communication and Culture. A man of subdued language and a fine sense of humour, Alan always makes me laugh with his ability to coin a phrase almost as well as a mint prints money…(sorry I had to). Possessing a small town Ontario attitude with some big city sophistication, Alan has built a great career for himself as a measurement specialist - or in his words, a “recovering PR/MarComm strategist-turned left-handed data guy” focused on measuring and shifting brand and reputation. I’ll always appreciate how Alan brings ‘lightness’ to heavy topics and an element of cerebral engagement together with authentic emotion.
